Coach Lutman

Gavin Lutman - Head Freshman Coach

Gavin Lutman is joining the Horizon Staff as the Freshman Head Football Coach. He graduated from Pittsburg State in 2014 with dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Marketing. While at Pittsburg State, he competed and started on the football team. Early in his career, Gavin battled through injuries. But with commitment and perseverance he finished his career as an All-American Wide Receiver, National Champion, and remains at the top of conference and team record boards. After his collegiate career, he had the opportunity to play professionally. He signed and played with the Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans in the NFL. Gavin also played in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. After his professional career came to end after 5 years, his coaching career started as a camp instructor teaching the fundamentals of football. He fell in love with the teaching aspect of the game and quickly became more involved. He is a full-time strength and conditioning coach and has volunteered to help coach offensive units and train wide receivers throughout the Kansas City and Phoenix metro. Gavin plans to use his career experiences to elevate our freshman playing experience. With the coaches he has had the honor to learn from, he hopes to give all that knowledge back to generations to come. Gavin now lives in Mesa, AZ with his wife Sarah and son Titus.
