Andy Litten - Varsity Head Coach
Andy Litten is coming from being an offensive coordinator at Hamilton High School the last three years. Coach graduated from Mountain View in Tucson in 2000, went to the University of Arizona and majored in History and minoring in Physical Education. He is a History and P.E. Teacher. Andy Started coaching at Mountain View High School in Tucson as an assistant coach in 2002. He became the Offensive Coordinator at Catalina Foothills High School in 2010, helping the team with their first playoff game in school history. In 2012 he became the Head Coach of Marana High School in Tucson until 2018. He won back to back region championships while at Marana helping them post back to back 9-3 records. At Hamilton, he helped the team reach the open eight the last two years, with the team reaching the semifinals in 2019, and the finals in 2020. Coach Litten and his wife, Audrey have one son, Ledger, two step sons, Jacob and Jonathon and two rescue dogs, Cooper and Ollie
Tyson Ditmore - JV Head Coach
Tyson Ditmore is coming to us from Paradise Valley High School where he was the Freshman/Sophomore Head Coach and a varsity assistant working with the defensive backs for the last 2 years. Coach Ditmore graduated from Las Cruces High School in Las Cruces, NM back in 2004 and went on to play football at the University of New Mexico under Rocky Long. He was an assistant coach for two years in New Mexico at Manzano High School in Albuquerque, NM in 2008, and his alma mater Las Cruces High School in 2009, helping each team make it to the quarter-final state playoffs. He sold Medical Devices from 2009 to 2018 before going back to his passion which is teaching and coaching. He currently is a high school special education teacher. Coach Ditmore is not married and does not have any children.
Cam Wierson - Defensive Coordinator
Coach Wierson has been hired as the Defensive Coordinator. Cam is coming to us from Hamilton HS where he served as Coach Litten's Offensive Analyst and Wide Receivers Coach. Coach has been part of multiple nationally ranked football programs in Pop Warner, High School, and College. He spent 3 years as the Head Coach at Kingman HS. Cam has 6 years of college coaching experience with stops at The University of Texas-El Paso, Angelo State, and Missouri Valley College. He played safety at Northwest Missouri State University. Coach teaches Special Ed at Horizon. His wife, Ralitsa, is the licensed-counselor at Ottawa University. They have a golden retriever named, Homer.
Clayton Walker - Offensive Line Coach
Clayton Walker has been at Horizon for 13 years as a Freshman/Varsity coach at Horizon high school. Coach graduated from Horizon High school in 2002, as a player he was a Frank Kush award winner. He later went to the University of Washington where he was a four year starter. He is a History teacher on Campus. Clayton started coaching at Horizon in 2008 where he coached Freshman football as the offensive line and defensive coordinator until 2011. Coach has since been the Varsity Offensive line coach at Horizon High school for the last ten years. Coach Walker and his wife, Amber have 2 daughters, Ruth, and Skyler.
Mauri LeBlanc - Defensive Line Coach
Mauri LeBlanc comes to us from Pinnacle High School where he coached Defensive Line. Coach LeBlanc is a 1995 Horizon High School graduate. He previously coached with the Phoenix Storm organization. While with the Storm he served as Defensive Coordinator for three years and Head Coach his last two seasons, winning an Arizona State Championship in 2016 and runner-up in 2017. Coach LeBlanc and his wife Cindy (also a 1995 HHS graduate) have two sons, Jake and Brady, and a dog named Champ.
Brandon Whitener - Linebackers Coach
Coach Whitener is entering his 12th varsity coaching season. Coach Whitener entered coaching upon his arrival to The Grand Canyon State in 2005. Coach Whitener's coaching career included stops at Maryvale High School, North Canyon High School, Mountain Pointe High School, Desert Mountain High School & Notre Dame Preparatory High School. Whitener was born and raised in Florissant, MO where he graduated from Hazelwood Central High School (2000). He went on to play collegiately at Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. His college playing career included time on both sides of the ball; starting as a Strong Safety/ Linebacker and concluding as an All - GPAC Honorable Mention Running Back (2004). He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Corporate Communication (2005). Coach Whitener currently works as a Manager for Amazon. Outside of coaching, he enjoys time with his kids Davian, Karter, and Haidyn.
Jeff Carranza - Wide Receiver Coach
Jeff Carranza is coming from being a Varsity/JV coach for Higley High School for 4 seasons. Coach graduated from Marana High School in 2013, where he played for fellow Horizon coaches Andy Litten and Cam Weirson. Jeff started coaching for Andy at his alma mater after graduating from Marana as a JV WR coach. Jeff took a break from coaching after 1 season at Marana to serve a service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 2016 he started coaching for Higley High School as an assistant coach for JV and Varsity levels. Jeff was blessed to be a part of some great Higley teams that made the state semifinals 3 out of the 4 years of him being on staff. He also got to coach some of Arizona's top high school players at Higley. Jeff owns his own personal training company, Sub Zero Athletics, where he helps high school and college athletes reach their full potential in the specific sports they compete in. Jeff was just recently married on January 16th 2021 to his beautiful wife Carly.
Bryan Lynn - Running Backs Coach
Bryan Lynn is coming to Horizon after being the offensive coordinator at Desert Mountain last year. Coach went to Cactus Shadows High School and graduated in 2012 and furthered his education at Arizona State University where he graduated with a degree in Sociology. Coach Lynn began coaching at Chaparral High School in 2015 as an assistant coach. After being there for 4 years, he went to Desert Mountain High School for 2 more years before coming to join the Huskies
Dave Johnson - Defensive Line Coach
Dave Johnson has been married 25 years to Suzanne, is the father of three: Alexis-23 (GCU masters), JD-19 (Freshman at U. Michigan), Addyson -18 (Sr. at Pinnacle) and works as an SVP for Evolt Capital. Dave has been involved with football for 45 years as a high school, college, and professional head coach or coordinator. He has both played, and coached, in National Championship games.
Robert Barra - QB's Coach
Robert Barra, this will be my first High School coaching opportunity. I have coached for a total of 13 years. Most recently with the Arizona Dolphins. I first started in the flag football and then progressed into tackle world where I coached In the High School division for 2 years. In that timeframe span we ended up winning 1 state championship. After that season our family then moved to Oregon where I took time off. We then returned to Arizona in 2014 where I got back into coaching flag football again. We started the Arizona Dolphins and began to play in the competitive flag travel tournament circuit. We achieved a lot of great things there and became a top 5 national team. As of now we are on the 7v7 Circuit playing in a variety of local & National tournaments for the past 4 years. It has been an amazing thing to watch our team and players grow every season as most of the players on our team I have coached for several years. I have been married to my wife Kiley for 14 years, and we have three daughters, Natalee age 15, Gianna age 11, Brooklynn age 8.
Chris Contratto - Kickers Coach
Chris Contratto is a Horizon Alumni, graduating in 2015. After high school he went on to PVCC then to GCU as a pre-law major. While an active kicker he spent four years working and training with the renowned coach Gary Zauner, allowing him to train with and learn from the best competitors in the nation. During his time kicking at Horizon the team managed to make it to playoffs three years in a row with records of 8-3 in 2012, 8-3 in 2013, and 8-4 in 2014. He has a deep rooted passion for football and kicking in particular and one day hopes to be a special teams coach in the NFL.
